Legend:

Chamoru stories tell of a village woman who always talked loudly and made trouble. The "taotaomo'na" then turned her into the first sihek.

Threatening Factors:

Brown tree snakes kill them. They will attack larger animals that get too close to their nest.

Preserving this Species:

They catch the birds and put them in cages so that they can reproduce more.

Additional Facts:

Females have white breast while male have a tan chest.
