General Facts:

Introduced, Protected.

Specific Habitat:

They live on the land or mud.

Sources of Food:

They feed on grass and other vegetation.

Predators in the Wild:

Their predators are insects.

Economic Importance:

They were used by farmers to pull plows and carts and have been called "living tractors."

Threatening Factors:

The water buffalo is susceptible to most diseases and parasites that afflict cattle.

Preserving this Species:

Karabao are protected on Guam which mean that it is against the law to hunt, kill or in any way harm these animals.

Additional Facts:

The adults weigh1,500 to 1,800 pounds.
